Camille si ammalò 1876 . Hanno avuto un secondo figlio , Michel , su 17 Marzo 1878 , ( Jean è nato a 1867 ) . Questa seconda bambina ha indebolito la sua salute già sbiadita . Nello stesso anno , monet si trasferì nel villaggio di vétheuil . Su 5 Settembre 1879 , camille monet morì di tubercolosi all'età di thirty-two ; Monet l'ha dipinta sul suo letto di morte .
